Power of Presence Mini Course

Day 5.
Active suggestions

Today’s Core Idea

Abstract ideas inform.

Concrete stories move people.

1. Don’ts Block You

When you present, your mind often sounds like this:

Don’t speak too fast.
Don’t say “um.”
Don’t fidget.
Don’t look nervous.

But “don’t” creates tension.

It focuses your attention on the mistake.

Not on the solution.

2. Turn Don’ts into Do’s

Every “don’t” can be transformed.

Instead of: Don’t say “um.”
Say: Enjoy silence.

Instead of: Don’t rush.
Say: Pronounce every word clearly.

Instead of: Don’t fidget.
Say: Use your hands to emphasize important words.

These are active suggestions.

They give you direction.
They give you something you can train.

3. Step by Step

You cannot implement ten suggestions at once.

That creates stress.
And it makes you freeze.

Real progress works like rehearsal in theatre.
One focus at a time.

Choose one active suggestion for your next meeting.
Train only that.
When it becomes natural, choose the next.

Small changes. Repeated often.
This is how presence becomes reliable.

And this is how you become your own coach.

Today’s Exercise

  1. Record a 30-second video of yourself presenting.

  2. Review it in three rounds:

    • Sound only

    • Image only

    • Sound and image

  3. Write down what you notice.

  4. Turn every “don’t” into a clear “do.”

  5. Pick one active suggestion to train in your next conversation

Reflection

What surprised you most when watching yourself?

Which active suggestion feels most powerful?

What changes when you focus on one clear action?

Growth happens step by step.

Tomorrow starts your real training!

Pick one active suggestion. Use it in your next meeting.
